One of the attractions of the Lares route is visiting villages that maintain their cultural practices. The paradox is that the presence of the tourist and all the tourists who will follow is that they bring change – the influx of the hegemonic Western civilization. Attempting to control and negociate this cultural change is the challenge of Eco-tourism. His patience and energy were very much appreciated! His familiarity with the area and the people made the trip unique and gave us an insight into the traditional lives the Andean people led. Service: The horsemen were friendly and efficient. It was a great relief to arrive at our campsite with the tents pitched and the cups of tea ready!! Equipment: tents were in very good condition and mattresses were comfortable. Nice and clean. Food: Great! Maybe too much!! The presentation and service was fantastic. Good variety.
