Some cities even throw concerts or performances in the city square to honor mothers on this day. But most importantly, this day is about spending time with family and making their mother feel like a queen. The people of Peru are very family-oriented, so it comes as no surprise that Mother\u2019s Day in Peru calls for another reason to have family gatherings accompanied by a&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.enigmaperu.com\/en\/blog\/430\/dinnertime-in-peru\"><strong>delicious feast<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Honoring the Dead<\/strong><br><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.enigmaperu.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Flowers-honored-the-dead-1160x870.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-320\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>While many people wouldn\u2019t imagine spending Mother\u2019s Day at the cemetery, many Latin American countries don\u2019t even bat an eye. Paying a visit to the cemetery and remembering their beloved mothers, grandmothers, or sisters, who have passed is a very common tradition in Peru, where families decorate the graves with a festive attitude in tribute to them. Many people socialize over drinks and food while honoring the dead, while vendors can be seen selling balloons, flowers, and signs for loved ones to post on the grave site.
