Enigma Reforestation
inca trail native tree reforestation
Several areas along the Inca Trail to Machupicchu and its area of influence, close to which ENIGMA operates, have been identified to have lost forest density, with some having been severely deforested by local communities.
ENIGMA SUPPORT
This is a directly funded Enigma project, in collaboration with the local governmental authorities and the nearby local communities.
Enigma has been the first Peruvian Operator to participate in a reforestation project, having planted an initial 3,000 native-species seedlings (Chachacomo and Llama Llama) in the area of Corralpata-Huayllabamba (Inca Trail). The participation of local community members allows us to spread awareness and create consciousness on the need for forest conservation – thus hopefully minimizing risks of future deforestation.
This is the first of a number of reforestation actions planned in this area.
